Our Jolong Park Rider Education curriculum consists of 5 levels of riding which participants can progress through and obtain certification for the program.  The education programs are aimed at teaching the participants not only how to ride though horse husbandry, understanding how to use an arena, understand the levels of dressage, show jumping as well as how the horse moves as the level progress. Participants will progress through these levels at their own pace or can be assessed by one of the instructors for specific entry level.

The Beginner level will cover the following competencies:

1. mounting and unmounting without assistance
2. confident steering at walk
3. confident steering at trot
4. changes in walk speed mainlining clear walk rhythm
5. correct rising trot and maintain a basic upright position
6. identify correct trot diagonal
7. uses full arena
8. change of rein across long diagonal at trot including change of rising trot
9. 20m circle at 3 points of the arena in walk and trot
10. 10m circle in walk
11. change of rein through a 20m circle at walk
12. transition from walk to rising trop
13. full circle of sitting trot on the lunge
14. 20m circle in 2 point position
15. full circle of canter on the lunge maintaining basic upright position
16. 2 point position over trot poles
    

Once the student has been able to achieve all 16 competencies they are able to progress to Intermediate Certificate.
